Gaye Lynne LaGuireGrowing up with a creative family in Detroit, Michigan, Gaye Lynne LaGuire was exposed to art of every material and expression at the Detroit Institute of Art and Cranbrook Design School.

During summers at the cottage, she explored old farms, where she began to study and draw figurative with animals and illustrations influenced by N.C. Wyeth and Disney’s Fantasia.

During her schooling years, she began to realize her art career. Graduating from University of Michigan with a B.S. in Design, she moved to California to continue her career at California Lutheran University, graduating with an M.A. in Art & Education, with minors in literature and art history.

For the past 43 years she has focused on portraiture, completing over 300 portraits between 1964 and the present. She also dabbles in murals and landscapes in oil.
